MOVIES-TV
What is your specialty? Production, direction, something else?
I would say editing, though I do love directing and scriptwriting. But editing is my first love, I love piecing it all together and getting that 'squee' feeling after you see the a scene come together!
Is there a link to a site where we can see references to your work?
There are two:

my editing is on YouTube [where else?!] and its here: http://www.youtube.com/user/KiwiFashionista its a mixture of fanvideos and my own short films!

I am currently doing a film challeng where I am watching 212 films in 7 months and I am reviewing them on the blog http://212films7months.wordpress.com/
How did you begin in this field? Who introduced you to it?
I began in 6th form college, back in England. I've always loved films and there was a subject called 'film studies' and I chose it because I thought it would be easy! Turns out, I love films more than I thought. My teachers Lucy and Donner-Marie showed me the magic of film, both on screen and behind-the-scenes. Its because of them that I want a career in movies!
Which have been the most symbolic works of your career?
I'd say my short animation which is a dedcation to South Park and their 200th episode. I animated a short film for them, where their main 4 characters had to be girls for the day at school, I did all the animation, voices, editing, everything and it was the most popular video on the Sout Park website for weeks.
Do you work for a client, for the audience, or for your own creative adventure?
My own creative adventure; what's the point in making something that you don't want to do?
What should a good script have in order to interest you?
Comedy. If a script makes me laugh then its won me straight away.
Name three contemporary directors or producers that you admire.
Ben Stiller. I know this may sound a bit lame but I love all of the movies I've seen that he's directed/produced.

Tim Burton. He's very unique and just plain cool.

Trey Parker. He's made me realise my love for directing, as well as comedic acting.
What movies or television shows inspired you to work in this field?
Blimey, that's hard, erm... I'd say South Park for TV shows because the style of comedy is the style I'd want to make in movies. Movies... there's so many! I think that probably Rang De Basanti was pretty inspirational to me. I loved how it was shot and all the colours.
If an actor delivers the lines but is not believable, how do you direct him/her?
Smack them and tell them to do it better [laughs].
Are you the type who instantly knows when a take is good, or one who does another three takes to be safe?
I instantly know when a take is good. If I see a good one, I think "right, yup, that'll do, NEXT!" No point wasting time and batteries.
Do you approach an editing session with a clear idea of what you want to do or with an attitude of experimentation?
Bit of both. Normally I read something or watch something and the editing instantly comes into my head.
Do you eat popcorn at the movies?
Of course! There is nothing better than watching a movie, eating popcorn and having half the popcorn miss your mouth and go down your top!
Do you change the dialogue after selecting the actors in order to adapt the characters to them?
Yes because I'm a huge fan of improv. A script is great but sometimes lines just come to you and they're often better than what's in the script because its in the moment.
Is the future of cinema the Internet? Mobile phones?
I bloody hope not! I love nothing more than going to the cinema and watching it on a huge screen with strangers! Especially here in America but the American audience gets really into the film and everyone laughs together and says "oooo" "ahhhh" together and its just amazing! And then you clap at the end and everyone's happy! Its an amazing experience that unites people. Long live cinema!!
