ART
What do you do? How do you define yourself as an artist?
Usually I paint, water coulors mainly, sometimes acrylic, at times I mix various media.
Well, I'm a painter and an inventor.
What is your message?
I have no message in particular. I paint for my own pleasure only. So "pleasure", could that be a message? I want to be free in my art and I want others to be free too - well, that is a message of course.
Your biography in four lines.
I was born the day before D-day.
Since then the world has taken an unpredictable direction.
I have studied æstetics, art history and the natural colour system. These three has been of some importance to me.
I see, watch, think and do things. Maybe one could call it art.
Do you upload your work to the web? If so, where could we see it?
Yes, some of it, at least something, could be seen at
www.breitholtzbilder.blogspot.com
How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
Ideas just come, I never look for them, they come to me.
Inspiration? Well, to be happy when I see what I have done.
What role does technology play in your creative process?
Technology?
None.
What is art?
Good question.
When do you get your best ideas?
So far I haven't got that particular one as yet.
How do you evaluate whether an idea is good or not?
I really don't know. I don't evaluate when I'm at work as that inhibits creativity. Maybe I look at pictures many years afterwords and then I could have a feeling, well, that wasn't too good but that is something and so on.
Three creative ideas that you would have liked to have created?
?
When and how did you begin to see yourself as an artist?
When? On June the 5th.
How? My mother gave birth to me.
Why do so many artists and creators have such volatile personalities?
Well, I suppose you have to ask them to get a proper answer.
Do you consider yourself postmodern?
As I have never been modern, so how could I be post-modern?
How should a work of art be evaluated?
Art shouldn't be evaluated. Art is a way of life.
Must an artist reinvent him/herself everyday?
Yes, why not?
Which artists do you admire and how do they influence your work?
Lrac Sredna Ztlohtierb.
We inspire each other tremendously.
What do you think about public funding for the arts?
That's good. Do you want my account number?
Is art necessary?
Could one imagine a world without any form of art?
Does it pain you to let go of a piece you have sold?
Never. Well, on second thought: yes, it has occured.
Is a work of art purchased, or is it better said, that it is the artist who is bought?
Two different things with no correlation.
In art, there is no guide. How do you know what the next step is?
I don't. But I could hazard a guess.
How do you feel about the fact that the pieces exhibited in contemporary art museums are often of artists already deceased?
Being Swedish, i dont understand the meaning of the word deceased?
What role have the figures of art dealer, gallery owners, representatives, and intermediaries in general played in your career?
So far not a very grand role.
What types of jobs do you usually do?
Inventions.
Which of your jobs or tasks do you most enjoy?
To create.
Do you personally collect any items?
Not really, no.
Which websites do you frequently visit?
goggles.
What advice would you give to those just beginning?
See, think, do and enjoy.
