Interview with:

Andremus Miklos [andremus]

MUSIC
What do you do? What is your musical specialty?
I'm a singer, composer, songwriter and musician (I play guitar and a bit of keyboard)
Do you work alone or in a group? If in a group, who are the others you work with?
I can work alone, but most of the time i'm working with my friend Adélaïde. She likes singing a lot, and sometimes we are writing lyrics together.
Is there a web address where one can listen, see, or read some of your work?

Please list any awards, competitions, or other acknowledgments you would like to mention.
This is one year in a row that I'm number #1 on Reverbnation Music Other Charts for my local area. I've been classified in the Top 40 Latin music in December 2010, on OurStage.com music internet site, with my song called "Andy's Bossa". This song has been played also on Radio UK International, Radio Basingstoke and Covent Garden Radio in August 2011.
Please list discography in which you have participated.
My first official MP3 Album : "Des jours sans fin" 1 - Andy's Bossa 2 - Silence 3 - Ailleurs 4 - Time is out 5 - Coeur des îles 6 - Adieu 7 - View from a child 8 - Des jours sans fin
How did you begin making music? Who introduced you?
One of my best friends gave me an acoustic guitar a long time ago and I thank him so much.
What was your musical education?
Left-handed, I learnt to play guitar by myself. After some years I met others musicians and I learnt a lot with them, while playing some live shows.
When did you realise that making music could be a way of life for you?
well, i don't know. I always enjoyed singing and listening to music. I was very close to my grandmother when i was a kid. She liked a lot singing and the radio was on all day in her house.
What is your creative process?
It depends on my mood and the feelings i've got. About music, i can play freely with harmony, or i've got a special beat in my fingers and then i'm playing it a lot, trying to improve it. Lyrics and melody can't be dissociated on my point of view. Most of the time, i find the melody line with my voice.
When do you have your most lucid moments, in the morning or night?
Night time is the best cause I'm able to listen to myself in a deep way.
How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes?
I'm never totally sure about that. A song is never fully finished for me, i mean you can play and sing the same song in different ways or styles, you can always improve it on stage.
How did you discover your creative territory? How would you describe it?
My creative territory is a mess! lol Well, i'm an emotional person and most of the time i keep my feelings inside me. When it's overfilled all the feelings are coming out, and believe me I really need to create when it happens!
Which musicians or groups have been inspiring to your career?
Georges Brassens, Bernard Lavilliers, Steve Hackett, Yves Duteil, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chico Buarque, Georges Moustaki, Serge Gainsbourg, Pretenders
List three songs that are key to your life.
Hotel California by The Eagles The girl from Ipanema by Antonio Carlos Jobim Spectral mornings by Steve Hackett
How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?
I promote my music through internet, on my social networks. I've got a website, and I'm having live streaming shows in some virtual worlds like Second Life or InWorldz.
What other things have you done to make a living?
I'm working in social integration since 20 years.
Have you ever played on the street or in the subway? How much did you collect each day?
I played twice on the street, many times ago, and it was such a great experience. Sharing your music this way is amazing, I think it's one of the best challenge for an artist.
Who would you play with, without a doubt?
Bernard Lavilliers and Steve Hackett.
