COACH
 | What types of coaching do you do? Who are your clients? Mainly executive coaching and career coaching. |
 | Can you provide a link to a site where we can get to know more about you, the type of work you do and/or the place where you do it? |
 | How did you get into coaching? I found out that I am good at it, took a few years to train and practice. |
 | Do you have innate qualities, or is it something that you learned? Both. |
 | Can you describe briefly the technique or methodology you use? 1) Systemic consulting
2) Body-oriented approach by Dr. E. Kinast and Drs. B. Vermeulen |
 | When the coach is confused or lost, where does he/she find a guide? International Coach Federation (ICF)
Personal supervisor / coach |
 | What must the person you are helping contribute? Everything
Willingness to learn |
 | What motivates someone to work more efficiently? Ideally: Self-reflection and often the need for more work-life balance.
Need to have more time for other hobbies or family outside work.
Often:
External pressure (like perfomance reviews and manager's pressure)
Headcount reduction. |
 | How do you work on the emotional plane? It is part of a holistic approach. |
 | Can positive thinking can be developed into a habit? Yes. |
 | How does one learn to listen? By shutting up! |
 | How do you define the concept commitment? What importance does it have in the development of a person? When I want to change I need to be committed to myself and my life vision. Otherwise change is not possible in my view. Change never happens from outer pressure only from inner needs (usually emotional suffering). |
 | Both of the following are necessary, but how are dreaming and realism balanced? just use your whole brain :-). |
 | Is it necessary at times to reorient a person’s desires and expectations? The client will know this answer after one or two sessions. It is not task of the coach to decide about another person's life. |
 | Discipline and creativity: are they two forces in opposition, or are they complementary? I say complimentary. |
 | What are your personal relationships like with the people you work with? usually friendly |
 | What is usually the main obstacle your clients face? Barriers in their heads, mainly stemming from belief system they have learnt in early childhood development. |
 | How do you know if a challenge is the right one for a person? I don't. |
 | When the coach is confused or lost, where does he/she find a guide? Who is the coach of the coach? I answered this q already. Is this a test? |
 | Can an excess of self-esteem be the worst obstacle? In our world it usually helps more than it hinders but we all need to learn humbleness. |
 | How do you recommend selecting a coach? Should it be someone who has followed the path that he/she wants to? Should it be someone they admire? |
 | If someone wants to initiate a self-transformation, what general advice would you give him/her? Start with baby steps but do something. |
