| What is your professional background? What did you do before? I've been a qualified Software Engineer since 2000 (16yrs old) and have completed my Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science. I was proficient with C++, Java and Perl before I took on web development in 2008. |
| With which technologies do you normally work? I currently work with Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Javascript, jQuery, HTML & CSS. |
| What was your first computer, and which is your current? My first computer was an HP and my current one is a Dell |
| Online virality: isn't it the same as traditional word-of-mouth? Definitely not.
Online virality is the product of online social networks and online media, which has the power to change an internet business overnight. |
| What were you doing in March 2000, at the height of the "dotcom bubble"? In March 2000, I was studying for my 10th grade finals. |
| Will bandwidth one day cease to be a limitation? Yes, I believe so. This has already started. I currently have a 75Mbps internet connection and it has made a significant difference to the way I use the internet. It's now all about the speed of the server rather than the speed/bandwidth of the client. I can stream HD content without a hitch and I haven't seen the "buffering" animation in quite a while! |
| Your tips to make money online If you think you have a great idea then quickly set-up a brilliant team and make sure you execute it perfectly. Partner with the wrong people or take too much time for execution and you'll have wasted your time and money. |
