 | What do you do? How do you define yourself as an artist? My name is Ashlee Comerford and I am an oil painter from Colorado. Oil painting is only one form of expression for me. I've considered myself an artist since I was about 4 years old and on the ice figure skating. It is a way of expression for me. I intend my art to create a feeling for my viewers. |
| What is your message? My message is always changing with every painting but the theme stays the same ( to tell you a story and make you feel something). I also hope that when you see a painting up on your wall that I have created you want to be in that moment and celebrate that moment as if you were the figure in the painting. |

| How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration? It depends really. It simply comes to me. It is one moment in time that I just need to remember. So..I put it on canvas and soon as possible. |
| What role does technology play in your creative process? I use my camera for photo reference and thats it. |
| What is art? Art is for everyone. My definiton is simply; An emotional statement put on canvas, paper, or in the form of a sculpture. To be remembered and cherished. |
| When do you get your best ideas? Anytime and any place. |
| How do you evaluate whether an idea is good or not? I do a preliminary sketch to see if it will hold up as a good painting. |
