Is your 'book' online? Can you provide a link to it?
Check my photo book on my mother agency's website (Joy Model Management): http://www.joymodelmanagement.com/modelos/mulheres/bianca-ruiz or http://bianca-ruiz.blogspot.com/
What method did you follow to get the expression or the attitude that they were seeking?
I don't follow a method, actually I follow the beat of the songs they play during the job and that's what will make my mood for the shooting.
Are you recognized on the street? Is it annoying?
It's not annoying, but people are always asking about being skinny, traveling, anorexia in model's career and questions like those.
Would you like to work behind the camera? Have you ever tried?
For sure I would like, once you know how the people behind the camera works, you could work better and help them, making better poses and you also can "see" from the view they have. It's nice.
Do you see the profession as a springboard to something else, or something lasting?
Could be both of them depends what you wish for.
When you finish a session, do you tend to think you could have done better? Do you depend on someone who will critique you honestly?
I always try do see what kind of costumer the brand I'm doing the job has, then you know what you have to be in the picture, it's same as acting. I do my best in my pictures 'cause I like when the client's happy with my work, of course.
When you see the result, is it usually as you imagined?
Usually it surprises you, sometimes much better... Sometimes, it's not good at all!
What do you think of anorexia? Do you think the fashion industry is responsible for this epidemic in some way?
I think everybody has their fault on it. If people who doesn't work in this industry see a fashion show or a comercial where the model is not so skinny or perfect, they say bad things. So, by one hand, they want us to be anorexic, by other hand, they don't want us to make them feel bad and "not so skinny". But fashion industry has their fault on it as well, as I said, blame on everybody.
What magazine do you dream of appearing on the cover of?
Vogue America's cover!
What are your favorite clothes brands?
I like the casual chic of Coach, and the elegancy of Louis Vuitton.
What clothes are you wearing right now?
Calvin Klein's boots and Dolce and Gabanna's dress.
How do you stay in shape, physically and mentally?
I do stretching, yoga, go to catholic church and meditation. It really works.
What places have you traveled to for work?
Brazil (my own country), Japan (Tokyo), Italy (Milan), France (Paris), Portugal (Lisbon and Porto), Malaysia (KL).
Is it possible to do good work, but not like the product or project?
It's completely possible, you're working and you have to be professional... Make your best and act as you have the same style of the costumer who buy the product you're shooting for.
What's your secret to getting your day off to a good start?
Choose a nice song and starting smiling, open your window and let the light in... You always have the opportunity to choose the mood of your day.
Do you have a special diet of some kind?
There's nothing better than a healthy diet plus exercising.
What advice would you give to someone who is going to a casting call for the first time?
Be relax, trust yourself, be polite and basic clothes.
