Interview with:Boaring Entertainment [boaringent]
MUSIC
What do you do? What is your musical specialty? Currently, I am involving myself around the wide spectrum of beat production, focusing mainly on the hip-hop genre. I would like to think that I am paying dues to the numerous great artists that have come before me, while also generating an unfamiliar style in today's music scene. I specialize in finding rare samples, with influences from popular genres such as: jazz, blues, funk, r&b, and various international cultures' music. So far, I have been responsible for every aspect of my work, and I work tirelessly until the very best product is produced.
Do you work alone or in a group? If in a group, who are the others you work with? I personally work alone, however if there are artists who are lyrically talented enough that are interested in working together, I am open to anything.
| Is there a web address where one can listen, see, or read some of your work? 1)http://www.reverbnation.com/boaringentertainment

When did you realise that making music could be a way of life for you? When I realized no one around me had an immense knowledge of hip-hop, not only limited to artists, but technique, skill, and the many other components that come together to form something bigger than man.
When do you have your most lucid moments, in the morning or night? Like any other musician who is passionate about their work, I tend to have many instances of the "night", and sometimes only get a maximum of 3 hours of sleep per day.
How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes? I always find new ways to make a particular song I made better, and that drives me insane. I usually know when a song is finished when I have become absolutely maddened by the thought of hearing the same beat numerous times.
What part of your job is your least favourite? I least like working at my job and also the stress brought on by school. Not to be misleading, I believe school is an amazing tool for success, but school work and the other responsibilities brought on by my current job leave me completely drained; moreover, I feel as though I cannot fully incorporate all of my artistic capabilities.
How often do you practice? I try to set aside at least two hours during the day in order to work on my projects
Which musicians or groups have been inspiring to your career? My greatest influences are DJ Premier, RZA, Buckwild, J. Dilla, and of course Pete Rock. However, there are countless producers who have created beautiful works of art that put the aforementioned musicians in their place.
What should be done to stop piracy? Trying to stop piracy is almost as idiotic as trying to continue the war on drugs.
Who would you play with, without a doubt? If I were to ever be given the opportunity to work with a Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, I would be one happy camper. But, I would also like to work with many of the one-hit-wonders during the 90's golden era, so that we can create some two-hit-wonders.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the business? Always listen to other people's advice, but don't take in all of the advice you receive. I also believe that music should be a representation of one's soul, therefore be passionate in all that you do.
