What is your profession? What is your title printed on your business card?
Director of Marketing
What did you study and why did you choose to study that field?
Business Management. I was drawn to business management by the diversity of topics that were covered that would potentially lead me to run a business someday.
What is expected of you in your job, and how do you accomplish it?
I have to manage all of the marketing and sales activities at our firm. Much of this is set up through auto-responders that have been a huge benefit to our business.

Yes

I'm excellent at critical thinking and creative tasks. I could improve at tasks that require collaboration.
Do you usually attended seminars or coursework to advance your professional work or would you consider yourself a more self-taught person?
Although I am more of a self-taught person, I do attend seminars annually.
When did you realise that your work was being considered important and that it could possibly take you places?
About 6 years ago when I transitioned my focus into Internet marketing.

With which types of persons do you feel you work well with as a team?
People who are not "yes-men" but who can also take constructive criticism fairly.
Which goals have you focused on in your professional career?
Become the most efficient and hard working individual at my particular skill sets.

Which languages do you speak, and how have you learned them?
Only English, but I plan to regain my fluency in French someday.
Do you have a website or blog? How was the process in making it? Does it accomplish the purpose for which it was created?
We have many corporate sites and a corporate blog (I do not have personal ones yet, but plan to in the future). Yes they accomplish the process for which they were intended.
How do you feel about speaking in front of an audience? What experience have you had in this arena?
I am comfortable speaking in front of an audience having done so many times and coming from a family with a significant background in this area

Occasionally

Yes, I am a member of a number of linkedin networks related to my profession.
How are you different from others in your professional sector?
My attention to detail is unmatched. I obsess over not missing the little things particularly when it relates to an upcoming project.
How is the Interent changing the way you work?
I have been able to accomplish much more in the course of a day and multi-tasking has become a a huge part of my routine.

Not particularly

Not really
Would you relenquish some of your income in exchange for more free time?
That is a tough call but probably not. I have to support my family and I am able to take free time if needed.

The slow pace of change of the company
Besides your current profession, what other things would you have liked to have been?
An athlete, a journalist or a lawyer
What is the most important thing you have learned from experience?
Don't give up the first time that you encounter a challenge in your profession of choice, stick with it and you will be rewarded.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An athlete

Someone wants to ask for a pay rise and they ask you for advice in how to approach the matter with their boss. What do you tell them?
Outline how you have improved the profitability of the company either directly or indirectly and suggest how your job role could increase within the company once you attain the raise.
What do you do to manage stress?
Watch sports, exercise, spend time with my family
What are the most common mistakes clients make when they judge your work?
People sometimes believe that since I came from outside the industry that I am incapable of relating with them.
