 | What is your specialty? I am an illustrator and graphic/product designer. Have worked in gaming and am now in the fashion industries |

| What made you interested in design? Having also been an illustrator I feel I understand two very strong elements to commercial art. I prefer the precision, solution based, and abstract qualities of design over the whimsical or storytelling aspects of illustration. To me the core of design is based on carving an image or object down to its elemental form to lets its message communicate as clearly as possible, without embelishments. I respect this effort tremendously. |
| What has been your professional career path? phylosophy major...multimedia...photo retouching...animation/character design major...illustrator in gaming...designer. |
| Have you received any awards for your work in the field of design? yes but I cant remember what they were...haha |
| What is your motivation? What makes you get up in the mornings? My son, flamenco, my love of light, and some sick drive to always do better than the day before. |
| How would you define your design style? clean, bright, direct, forceful.
I really relate to the futurits (not politically however) love design from the turn of the century, bau haus, and art deco. |
| How do you promote and move your work? I have no idea |
| In which new areas would you like to experiment? do you mean like designing hovering, mobile living spaces, or professional fields I have not tried yet? |
| Shapes, color, concept: where do you usually begin when conceiving a design? I love color, its really my first instinct. Although often one does not get to work in color, so in that case I'd say negative space or composition. |
| What are your sources for documentation and to generate ideas? unfortunately they are mostly all stored in my head, I've got a lot of them in there...they are getting very crowded in there...need...to....find....better.....way. |
| Which festivals or awards in your field do you find most interesting? I really cant say |
| What is your favourite type of customer? One who comes to the table with good ideas and is also willing to work on creating new ones together with me. |
| To a certain point, is copying justifiable? yes, unless one is intentionally copying something verbatim. |
| List some things you dislike seeing in design. total lack of care put into project, a "good enough" attitude. |
| Do you believe the newer generations are better at designing? no |
| With which type of client would you decline in working for? someone who just wants the job done and does not care about the quality of the product |
| How do you calculate budgets for a design project? based on market value |
