Family Nurse Practitioner Providing healthcare to the entire family, infants to elderely, including women's health. Providing general care in health maintainance and common illnesses.

What is your definition of health, and of a healthy life?

Health is holistic well-being in the absence of disease and injury. Holistic well-being encompasses, mental, spiritual, social and the physical.

Do you recommend Vitamins and nutritional supplements? Do you believe their benefits have been proven?

Confirming a deficiency of a vitamin/nutrient with analysis of blood diagnostics, treating it with the appropriate supplement, and followed up with review of new blood results after treatment to measure the benefits, is an established standard in current western health care practice for specific vitamins/nutrients. Western medicine does acknowledge the use of other supplements listed as "alternative therapies"

The patient/doctor relationship is part of the success of treatment. What should it be like?

A partnership in which the patient is actively involved in the goals of treatment.

What new technologies have the most potential to save lives in the near future?

Automated defibrillators placed in every building pretty much the way we place fire extinguishers and fire alarms.

What is your opinion on the regulation of health care practice.

Regulating Health care practice via Licensure and certification of providers is put in place to protect the public.

Would you change your profession for any another?

No. I'm in a healing profession that allows me to do work I find gratifying.
