WRITING
 | What did you first read? How did you begin to write? Who were the first to read what you wrote? What I first read was romance. Not burning bosom kind of romance, chick flick kind of romance. One day I read to kill a mocking bird. It changed my literary life. I now crave classic literature. Le Mis, Catcher in the Rye, The giver.
I started writing in elementary; my teachers all loved my stories. In Jr High I won a poetry contest and got to MC the Christmas concert. In high school I started my blog. That’s when I realized my true love for writing. No one has read my fiction as I have not released it to the world. But my blog is open to all. My family were the first to read my blog. But I'm sure there are a few more that do as well |
 | What is your favorite genre? Can you provide a link to a site where we can read some of your work or learn something about it? Genre hummmm...... Classical Jane Austin, C.S. Lewis the list goes on and on.
www.cathycoppin.blogspot.com is where you can read some of my work. |
 | What is your creative process like? What happens before sitting down to write? My process always starts with an emotion. I just started writing a short story, It spured after I read another blog. And fell in love with his writing. His blog spurs and emotion, which created a story in my head.
Before I sit down I always think "There you go again trying to be a writer!"
My brain doesn't get it, my heart does. So I pull out my lap top put some music on and start to type. I also always picture my self in Breakfast at Tiffany's before I start. I'm sitting at Fred darlings desk playing with his type writer, I'm Audrey Hepburn. I'm not sure why, but that scene always gets me started. |
 | What type of reading inspires you to write? All kinds of reading inspires me. My style and intersts change with each book I read. Reading and writing go hand in hand. If I write it is because I have been insired by a reading. Book, article or blog. |
 | What do you think are the basic ingredients of a story? Passion/emotion
Story line
Action from the start
an interesting topic
writing style |
 | What well known writers do you admire most? Jane Austin is my Idol of romance.
C.S. lewis for the fantasy side of me.
Stephen King for the Horror
Harper Lee for the Classical side.
Dan Brown for the action/adventure side of me. |
 | Deep down inside, who do you write for? Deep down inside I write for one person, myself. Writing is one of my outlets it is me. So even if I am the onlyone that ever reads it, that is ok with me. |
 | Does reader feed-back help you? YES YES YES! please give feed back. I want to know what you like or dis like about the writing! I may never change it but at least I know what others think of it. |
