 | What is your blog address? What subjects do you deal with? |
| What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it? I started blogging back in 1999 but it was personal blogging. I wanted a diary online. |
| What blogging system have you adopted and why? Now I use Wordpress primarily. I like the interface and the ease of use. |
| How many visits a day do you get? What type of comments do you receive? I don't get too many visitors in my personal blogs but for http://mukhangpera.com I average 4K views a week. I don't get too much comments on all my blogs. |
| How has 'having a blog' contributed to your life? I met and made friends with my fellow bloggers. Some of my blogs also bring in a bit of added money. |
| Have you created relationships with other bloggers or readers of your blog? Yes. I made friends with a lot of fellow bloggers. |
| How often do you post? Does regular posting of your blog require a lot of effort on your part? For my beauty blog, food blog and personal blogs, I don't post regularly. For mukhangpera.com I try to post everyday |
| Does blogging bring in income for you? Can one make a living from posting? Since I don't know SEO, my blogs don't bring in much extra money. I certainly can't make a living out of blogging. |
| How do you promote your blog? I promote through Facebook, Twitter and Plurk. I also host contests from time to time. |
| How would you define your readers? Have you got a faithful audience? |
| Are there any blogs you follow daily or regularly? |
| Have you ever received gifts for blogging about your opinion of products or services? What do you think of bloggers who do that? I get invited to events and sometimes get a token for attending them. I usually give the tokens are prizes for my blog contests. I think getting something from events is ok as long as the blogger doesn't go to such events just for the freebies. |
| How do you see your blog evolving in the future? I can't really tell for now. I have a regular job and blogging is more of a hobby for me. |
| What advice would you give to someone who wishes to begin a blog? It depends on what kind of blog a person wants. If it's just a personal blog, you can do that any time you want. You can use a free blog like wordpress.com or blogger. If you want to blog professionally or semi-professionally, think of a niche which you can sustain. It should be something you enjoy blogging about. Then when you've decided on the topic, get a domain and a reliable webhost. |
