Interview with:

Jaym Esch [druidblue]

POLITICS
How do you define your political position? What is the ideology that inspires it?
Progressive. I believe our founding documents are an excellent platform on which to build. However, life in 1776 was vastly different than life today, therefore we must make updates and changes to help keep our nation as great as possible. Sticking to outdated philosophies such as conservatives desire only holds us back and destroys citizens and our nation a a whole.
What matters more in deciding your vote: the party, the candidate, or the ideas?
Frankly all three are equal. It does no good to vote for a candidate who doesn't work towards your desires. However, on whole it is safest to vote party-line, Democratic in my case, as few Republicans come along that have my best interests- let alone preventing further strife and harm to me- in mind.
Do you think religion has a place in politics?
Absolutely 100% no. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs, and yet no one has the right to force their beliefs upon others. Wisdom alone can solve all political issues without using religious influence to bias your votes.
Are we witnessing the end of the American empire?
That depends. If Democrats remain in power continuing to fix the problems we've been placed in via conservative policies, America will thrive. If Republicans are voted back in, yes- America will not recover from the extra damages they inflict upon those we suffered under Bush.
PHILOSOPHY
For you, what is "the good life"?
Having a career you are proud of that does not consume your life. Outside of work, you have the money to buy all you desire (which doesn't cost much). You have friends who have your back, and a significant other with kids.
What is a friend?
A friend always has your back, gets you at your core and is similar in nature. You never dread having to make time to spend with a friend. It's someone who is your brother or sister without the familial ties, that you actually get along with!
What is God?
God is an essence of which we are all a part. It is not a he or she, nor knowable by mortals. Anyone claiming to speak on behalf of, to, or for God, or otherwise claim to know what God wants is lying. God is beyond our comprehension- at a base level though, we are all parts of God testing itself within all of the existing dimensions and realities as it seeks to perfect itself.
