HARMONY
What is your specialty? How do you help people find harmony?
My specialty is caring. I have worked with people having serious physical and mental disabilities since 2003. I am a residential care officer.
Do we think too much? Why is it so difficult to feel here and now?
We think badly rather than too much. We often let our mind be swamped with unnecessary thoughts that can be like parasits in our lives. These superfluous thoughts take a lot of energy & make our determination go down when we undertake things. They are always keeping us away from the path which leads us to complete fulfiment. These thoughts come from Ego & are based on patterns given by society. They prevent us from being connected to our true personality & this way to our true desires. They give us a perfect image of our future & of what we should be or have. With them we have difficulty to accept present as it is. But if we want to reach our aims & create future we have chosen we need to handle situations that happens here & now. We simply need to use our thinking abilities better... But it means we have to let go. And letting go means to be confident in life & accept we may sometimes delude ourselves about our purposes.
Do creativity and positive thinking slow aging?
Yes they do. I noticed the incredible power of these 2 human features on my body several times in my life. They always support my mental health much better than any neuroleptic medicine and therefore they help me to feel good physically. I could see some of the surprising effects of positive thinking on the human body in July 2008 when I had just finished to live a very hard time within. For several months before I had been gradually feeling so bad and my negative thinking patterns started to affect my general blood supply. But problems arose at the top of my body, in my neck more accurately. I could see a vein getting deformed by constant stress and deep sadness: it began to become varicose. At that time I felt so much bitter and powerless to change my destiny. Joy was away from my existence. In Chinese medecine blood is the material medium of universal life energy in our body and it represents such feelings like joy, bliss and happiness. Thus any big problem about blood supply usually means we have a big lack of these positive feelings in our life and we tend to believe we do not deserve beautiful things to experience. Vital force does not circulate properly through the body and it stagnates in some parts of our organism. Varicose veins are the most visible sign of this problem. In fact this was after my doctor said to me surgery was the only way to cure my sick vein in the neck that I deeply decided to change my way of being and thinking. It was really urgent: my health had begun to get worst. What happened for the next 4 days was nothing less than astounding: my varicose vein disappeared and became normal again without any treatment. Even my doctor was astonished. Only changing my frame of mind created such a situation. Therefore I now know that if having a positive mindset obviously supports our health it can also logically slow aging making life energy circulate in our body more easily. Besides I have meditated for years now and I have learnt to let go when dealing with negative circumstances or any setback. That's more and more natural for me and of course this behaviour has a visible effect on me physically. More detachment obviously means less bad stress and it is very good for the mind but also for health. A lot of people (friends, acquaintances or some others met once) in my circle often tell me that my body does not reflect my age at all: they always tend to see me as younger than I am really.
What is your short list of healthy habits?
Daily Buddhist meditation Listening to pieces of music that relax me and chill me out Walking, strolling Writing Drinking a cup of organic white tea or an infusion of organic rosemary
