What are your personal relationships like with the people you work with?
I am making friends for life. The people I work with often see a dramatic change in their life and it is that bond which unites us. It is so rewarding to be part of a like-minded group that shares the same values of health and lifestyle.
What is your specialty as a stylist? fashion, salon, image, objects...?
I specialize in fashion. I'm best at working with women who know their image and style could be better, but don't know where to start or what to do to put it together.
I've done some fashion photo shoots, but I much prefer the real life gratification of personal styling. Getting to know someone and showing her how to rock what she's got, especially when she thinks she's frumpy or not all that special!
I love that moment when it clicks for them how powerful the RIGHT fashion really is...
What would you call success? Where would you like your business to be five years from now?
Making enough money to live a good lifestyle and to fund my travels. Lol, not that much busier than now, would have to employ people if it gets too busy and Ido not want to do that .
How do you avoid repeating yourself, or falling into formula? How do you stay fresh?
I have sacrificed a nuclear family and "stable" lifestyle and have travelled to work everywhere on the globe: from Singapore to Buenos Aires - I haven't "visited" - I have worked and lived in these places (with and w/o a visa!) - go for it, or fuhgetaboutit!
What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it?
Albotas.com was launched on February 27, 2007 as a t-shirt company. We intended to fuse our love for pop culture, street art, and exceptional design into a full-fledged lifestyle brand. To stand out from the massive crowd of online t-shirt companies, we decided to make the front page of our a site a news blog where we could share cool stories we found across the Internet.
As it turns out, those news stories started to become very popular and land on the front pages of sites like Digg.com and Reddit.com, so we ditched the t-shirt side and focused on delivering cool news.
What are the most frequent errors of slimming diets.
It is right there in the question. They are diets. The minute we say we're going on a diet we are setting ourselves up for failure. We should be striving for a lifestyle change. Once you make it about changing your lifestyle then you are making a commit to yourself forever.
Is the best preventive medicine teaching someone how to live?
Yes! A healthy active lifestyle will change so many things for so many people.
Happiness and health: how much do they have in common, and how much myth is there in their relationship?
Simply put, healthy people are happy people. If you are living a healthy lifestyle you are feeling good and when you feel good it shows!
What is your definition of health, and of a healthy life?
For me health is about total overall fitness inside and out. It's not about being thin. It's about being living a healthy, active lifestyle by making better choices in food and other substances that we put in our bodies.
What is to come after consumist society?
We're entering this stage right now. We're coming into a trans-global economy based on whole culture lifestyles rooted in radical democracy.
How do you avoid repeating yourself, or falling into formula? How do you stay fresh?
As mentioned before, I am constantly moving and searching for new ideas, thoughts, questions, lifestyles, cultures, personalities, etc, in order to keep my mind exercised. I also see this as my way of "staying fresh" in order to avoid repetition. I allow myself to keep an open mind to any and all situations in order to see sides that I may never have noticed before. This benefits me greatly for it allows me to come up with new ideas and challenges my creativity, forcing me to become a greater artist.
How do you see your blog evolving in the future?
I have already created some more specific smaller blogs for this island as well as started to expand to cover the neighborouring island. It's going to be interesting there's a question looming as how to expand to grow the income but retain the freedom of my current blogging lifestyle.
How has 'having a blog' contributed to your life?
It's completely changed my lifestyle, I can now work when I like, from any location as long as I have access to the internet.
What have you achieved up to now? What have you yet to achieve?
I have been very successful in my life, in business and with investments. Married for 31 years I have a fantastic husband and a delightful daughter. We have a great lifestyle, fabulous home, holiday home in the French Alps and drive a Ferrari. Our income is mainly passive from our businesses, our investments and my books.
As the author of many books, I still enjoy writing and have a list of new books to write. I have many more business ideas to implement. I'm looking forward to helping my daughter start her business empire. I'm looking for a house by the sea for summer vacations and I look forward to many more happily married years with my husband.

You need to eat health and excercise while take any diet. Lifestyle changes.
Obesity, insomnia, and depression, are epidemic. What does that say about our way of life? What must be changed at the social level?
Obesity needs to be treated as a disease and education started in grade school. We need safer treatments for this disease, better access to healthier foods and better life styles (get off the couch and walk).
Depression can't be avoided and sometimes can't be reversed. People need to realize the root cause and try to understand the person and situations. Pill help for awhile, but mask the problem.
Insomnia- many reason, money worries, depression, stress. Individual dependent so no common treatment works for everyone.
Would you change your profession for any another?
For now, I'm happy where I am but would like to write more to inspire people to change their lives and develop a healthier lifestyle.

Without question. But I'd add on, teaching someone how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Conventional medicine and alternative medicine: what is real and what is superstition?
That's a slippery slope. Conventional medicine certainly has it's place and can indeed save lives. However, in the states, conventional medicine has become a racquet, more of a money proposition than a life saving one. In the states, we don't put much emphasis on prevention, more treatment. So I believe that alternative medicine allows people to learn about prevention and life a lifestyle that doesn't support medicine, rather supports a high quality of life.
Men versus women: do they cook differently?
Nope. Both my mother and my uncle used to share the responsibility of being executive chef at our family restaurants, they cooked almost the same way. I think it is more about one's life experience and life style and how those factors affect your style.
How would you define your style?
Island inspired fusion cooking, healthy living with flavors from around the world. I am a global islander, my cooking reflects my lifestyle and upbringing. My cooking is multi-cultural, Chinese, Nonya, a bit of Indonesia, part Hawaiian, a touch of India, some old world English, all blended into my daily American life.
How and where did you get your first job as a professional cook?
My first cooking job was actually teaching at a community school. I just moved to Minneapolis and I thought it was a good way to make friends. My life got too crazy and I stopped teaching for a long time. I started catering for my yoga teacher for her retreats a few years ago. Some of my fellow yogi friends wanted to know more about my style of cooking, I started teaching at in home cooking parties. It's a lot of fun! I still also started doing some weekly prep at my clients' home. I make a few meals for them and have it all ready for reheat or simple assembling. Taking some stress out of weekday meals.

My name is Leah Joy and I'm the Founder of a style of mindful-breathing, moving meditation called Zenful Dance. Zenful Dance teaches how to lead a more awake and happy, balanced life.
What is your advice for surviving the economic crisis?
You can't control everything. In fact you can really only control your own actions and reactions.
One person's economic crisis is another person's comfort level. It's all about personal acceptance and lifestyle.

I am a libertarian. I believe every individual owns his or her own body, mind, soul, life, energy, work, creativity, and productivity, and that governments and laws exist only to protect that. Governments should exist solely to protect our rights and freedoms, asides from that they should not be involved in exercising controls over any part of our lives. I am Anti "Big Brother" styled Governments and Laws.

Not very I don't think? Although I maybe there are similarities I don't see. Certain obsessions seem to be carried through life, and I'm sure that will affect my visual style.

Draw from life everyday, style comes naturally and should not be forced.
What are some simple things that one can to do to fight stress and anxiety?
There are so many ways to perform a simple action which contributes to personal aspirations or the betterment of a current lifestyle. I encourage people to make a list of what must be done in this regard and at least do one item so it can be crossed off. The process of doing something that is personally important helps attribute to a sense of usefulness. This also puts the mind to work. Even failing at a task is part of the mission to get it done. Otherwise, there are numerous ways to help the mind and body to relax, such as exercise and deep-breathing. The process of simple, on-the-spot meditation can be learned about anywhere on the internet.

Change: I so hate to point the style nay say finger...but I'll name one...Lil Wayne and this skateboard phase (at this point in his life). I will not even try to "get" what he's doing on the style front...but I am a big fan of his work ;-)
How did you begin to develop your talent? Have you possesed it since you were a child?
Glad you said since I was a child...yes! Personal style has been apart of my life as long as I can remember. I used to be in awe of the clothes/accessories my elementary school teachers wore, my great grandmother...I can't think of a time where it wasn't on my mind.
A few years ago, it was said that online sales would end up killing traditional store sales, but that has not been the case: how can you explain this?
People love the experience of being in a physical store. People still like being around other people. These things will never change and may actually increase, as we go further into a lifestyle that is more and more isolated.
How did you discover your creative territory? How would you describe it?
I discovered my creative territory quite early in life, with very juvenile compositions which were very classical in form, but it was not until my twenties that I connected
with the passion within me that released itself in my own style of blues.
My territory now is really whatever the music dictates to me, day upon day.
What has been your career path? How have you arrived to the point where you are? What did you do before?
In the long-term my destiny was set quite early: I hand-printed my first neighborhood newsletter at age 9. About the same time, I wrote my first short-story. In high school, I booked my first band for the prom (after discovering them rehearsing in my apartment building basement).
I learned business skills (typing & shorthand) in high school. Went the corporate route, then blended them all together, literally dancing the line between the traditional and entrepreneurial: Day (office work) & Night (producing live entertainment).
I worked a lot for free to gain recognition in the entertainment spectrum, which worked to my advantage to a certain extent.
Cable TV shows eventually led to network TV news.
Now I review media, lifestyles and health from my living room, bringing my expertise and personal experiences into the mix.
