Which do you like more, large budget or small independent productions?
There's definitely a place for both types of productions, it depends very much on the type of film that's being made.
Some films are great as indie productions and wouldn't have the same impact on an audience if they were made on a large budget. The financial constraints of a small budget inevitably mean more focus on storyline, character development and dialogue rather than stunning visual effects and action sequences and with the right type of film this can work brilliantly e.g. "Reservoir Dogs".
Equally there are some big budget action and sci-fi films which definitely wouldn't work on a very small budget e.g. "Star Wars", "Chronicles of Riddick", "Iron Man" & "Batman Begins" where stunning high-impact action sequences and special effects are essential to create the right overall visual impact on the audience and deliver an unforgettable movie experience.
