CREATIVITY
When you accept a job, how much value do you place on each of the following? Money, creative liberty, visibility, and to work with the best.
Money: Very little. Of course it's nice to get paid, but I would sacrifice the cash for a great project.
Liberty: Quite a bit. I want my ideas to shine when I work on something. I hope that's why I get hired. But, a client is a client and often it calls for creative patience. Then you have to consider the money and if it's worth it.
Visibility: Much like money, visibility is always appreciated, but not often a deciding factor on whether I take a project on. If I believe in the product and have the ability (time and talent), I'm in. Simple.
Working With The Best: If you turn down an opportunity to work with the best and you could have taken it, that's insane. It's great to be confident in your own work, but greater to be humble enough to learn from those better than you. |
