Yes, religion does have a rightful role in politics. If you look at the House Chamber in Washington, the inscription "In God We Trust" is seen behind the Speaker's desk. Those words are also found on each piece of American currency, along with other government facilities across the country. Citizens have the right to pray, and so do politicians. If a Congressman, Senator or even the President wants to pray before meetings and such, I believe they have every right to.
