I don't really have a favorite genre, really. Because to me, a genre is just a tool with which you mask what you're trying to say. We can deal with much more intense themes in, say, science fiction or fantasy than we can in "straight" fiction because we're coming at the themes obliquely. My favorite genre is whatever one the project I'm working on at the time calls for.
