Are kids and teens too “technified”? Can one become addicted to technology?

I think kids these days are as technified as we, geration X, were "televised" in our time. The young people they use the techonologies and ways of entertainment of their time. I used to play Atari videogames and my mom complained about me spending a lot of time doing it. It's the same now. However if you stop your child from playing with the technology of their time he/she will be in disvantage from other children because that is now part of the world we live in.
And yes, I believe some can become addicted to technology but as long as it doesnt interfere with their relationship with other people or with their school it cannot be so bad.
