Like and architect for the haunted attraction industry, I design frightening experiences from the inside out for the entertainment industry.
Beginning with a creative story line, the questions of; what evil hides in this place, what happened here to create such evil, what creatures did this evil create, where and when are we, and why are we entering this place when we know it puts us in danger?
I then relay this story through a scare by scare description of the patron experience and develop that into a two dimensional floor plan. Each room is inventoried for needed props, lighting, sound, animation and special effects needed to complete the experience. Construction drawings are then produced to detail the construction of every wall section, every scenic piece, sound design, lighting design, and every special effect that cannot be purchased.
This set of documents can then be put out locally for bid to get the best price for the client, or the client can build and base paint the attraction from the drawings.
Once each building piece is purchased or completed, I come on-site to oversee the installation of the attraction, including wall panel placement, scenic paint techniques, lighting placement, sound placement, animation install and actor training.
When I am finished you the client has a completed attraction ready to open to the public and start making money.
