I struggled with learning disabilities most of elementary school. I would read something and not really understand what I had just read, but in Fifth grade I read How To Eat Fried Worms. This was the first book that I really understood and our class did small writing activities. My imagination ran wild. This was the first time that I had teachers helping figure out what my brain was trying to communicate. I started to get more ideas, but they were small. In the form of poetry. Then, in my freshman year of high school I started to write short stories. I had a few classmates and family members read those stories. Everyone loved them, but writing didn't take old until senior year of high school when I self published my first book. The book took about two weeks to write and it was over 300 pages. After that I was almost untouchable. |
