I do not have any process I follow, it just comes to me while walking along the river near my home, and on my property in the back mountains of the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, or visiting historical battlefields, and my ancestors burial grounds in upstate NY.
Before sitting down to write, I see the beginning of the story, the landscape, and what my characters are thinking, then I proceed to bring them to life.
