WRITING
What discipline do you impose on yourself regarding schedules, goals, etc.?
I write every day for at least four hours. By that I mean I sit with Word open and a document begun. When holidays come, or vacations, sometimes I take along the laptop to keep up with this regimen; but when I am not in my office I usually do not write. I realize there is life to live, and often you need to experience life to be able to write well. I still feel guilty, so after a couple of days crying and moaning about having to start back writing, I get back on track. I am happy when I produce four pages of text. This can be on any topic, in any mode of expression (blogs, my blog, my book, simple thoughts, scripture reflections, etc.). I am happy if I work all day on editing something I wrote the day before. |
