Often times, I contemplate about what is happening in my life and try to draw from those experiences to write personal pieces. The news articles are straight forward who, what, when, where, why and how are the questions used to obtain the required information. For news stories, I try to stay at the 8th grade level of reading.
When I compose music, the chords are guided by the strum and then I link them together for a musical piece. My poems are actually songs.
I enjoy the opportunity when presented to use a tape recorder at the same time so I do not forget what I am singing.
When I write many times, I omit punctuation to capture the moment and then later insert the punctuation where needed. I call this free flow writing.
