Consumers will always want to see, touch, compare, barter prices, try things on. This can't be achieved via online means. Some just love to shop. It's a social event not just a means to an end. Once a product has been seen, tried and tested however, more people may go online to compare prices and purchase. There's also still a technology gap between those who feel comfortable with online purchasing and those don't and of course there are always fear of security issues and identity theft with online purchasing. |
