WRITING

What is your creative process like? What happens before sitting down to write?

Whohub

At any one time, I have several potential topics to write about for which I begin preparing sketches, but these sketches often need time to build momentum. The spark for such sketches may be conversations or controversies in real life, a thought inspired by a book, or very often musings of my mind as I am on the borderlands of sleep. I have a meditative process whereby I take in and contemplate lore as I am drifting off to sleep, and often I maintain this state for an extended period while letting the concepts drift down to their etymological roots, so to speak. When a vein has been tapped and the flow begins, a sketch will begin to flesh itself out into a full piece.
