Touching on subjects of ancient knowledge and the human experience, my pieces offer themes that deal with the sacred feminine, by exploring multicultural spiritual ideas of myth and legend, with works that incorporate the collective unconscious. These pieces are part of an ongoing series. They represent mortal women who have had to exercise a goddess like role in their life. In retrospect they are me relaying through the finished artwork a past experience or an imagined empowered one. Female archetypes are forever present and recurring in my work, the expression in their eyes, the garments they are wearing whether they are freeing or constricting help to tell the story of someone unable to. |
