In my day world of project managing buildings technology plays a huge role all drawings are computer generated. So for me when I am creating a painting there is no technology involved. However if I am working on a more graphic design project I will use photoshop second to first sketching the idea out. For my photography projects I enjoy using photoshop as I no longer have access to the darkrooms I spent hours in, lost in "the zone". Currently I use the program to play with the shapes created when I mirror, rotate, and duplicate my subject.
When I am designing jewelery I do use autocad to bring scale to the piece so I am not guessing especially if it is in metal and I am collaborating with a metalsmith. If I am using items from the land or sea then it is more tactile, I see it in my head I just need to put it together. |
