What are the most common mistakes clients make when they judge your work?
Not acknowledging what happens behind the scenes that goes into assisting them
Clients don't make mistakes when they judge my work. That's how I hang on to them for years/jobs.
The people I report to/companies I work for...that's a different story. They rarely understand the many multiple paths to Sales success that I find. Then they don't believe in either me, or them. Big mistake. It only ends up costing them millions in lost sales.
They make decisions from their personal perspective and not via the eyes of their target audience.
Coming from two very niche fields, one in a niche industry and one in a vast industry, I sometimes need to present an on-the-spot example of website content management I am capable of to remedy concerns.
They might think two things:
a) that it sucks - because it definitely isn't made for keeping up with the Joneses
b) that it costs too much - because it doesn't have a lot of stuff.
To clients a) I say "If you are spending all this money just to impress, there is nothing I can do for you" (short of suggesting a good therapist, that is).
To clients b) I say "Style, class and balance lie in quality, not in quantity".
My designs aren't minimal by any stretch of imagination. But they aren't as trashy as some of those fed to brides by some "expert" in this industry, so it might give you the wrong impression that it's "cheap". The reality is, people with style prefer quality.

Clients are never wrong. Atleast for me it's True. Clients are ALWAYS RIGHT.
judging without knowing
It's not so much they judge 'my work' but rather that they judge how my work might be done if they have had no experience of what a Virtual Assistant can do for them. They find it hard to imagine and often experience is the best way to learn. Give us a try and you'll find out just how worthwhile the service is.
That I am just a rookie
Truthfully, that I walk on water and have all the answers at 100%. People forget that I am human and also that just because a reading is predicted to be a certain way a person has free will to do or not to do something that actually can change the prediction.
That it's NOT original, it's to complicated, it's unproven, it's overvalued and that it's depicting an uncertain future. ALL wrong...

That I am more expensive than I am.
They pre judge the image of a professional investigator by what they have seen on tv and in films. People are often afraid or reluctant to approach a professional investigator as it is seen as a bit seedy but it is far from this. We are professionals who can assist in many ways and do not resmble what is portrayed in films and on tv (well maybe some do)! |
