What will the single-family home of 2050 be like?

Whatever owners will want
...any way which you can, form will be irrelevant...as the technology will allow "whatever" you want...
A capsule.
Not much different to what we have now, although I beleive it may be transportable and will be off grid for electricity, have its own water harvesting & require minimal external imput.
They will be all powered by some alternative energy source, such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, etc. The technological advances of tv, radio, etc, will be exponential. These houses will be very functional and resourceful.
simple, and small, and self sufficient, using solar and other sorts of renewable energy sources!
I have a project on this topic: http://cih.ru/gh/k3.html

I'm not completely sure there will be single family homes. I see the global financial crisis and resource scarcity influencing life very late into this century. I believe that by 2050 the trend for people to remain single and an aging population will see many sharehousing arrangements and will also cause a rise in intergenerational families in the one home.
Will not exist
Hopefully not a blob as some imagine :) Ideally, there are less single-family houses and more pent houses with shared amenities to facilitate a more metropolitan lifestyle.
But if single-family house, I doubt much will change. They will still have a garden and a BBQ and if in California, definitely a swimming pool.

Hopefully, it will be totally sustainable.
