When should one use film, and when should one use digital?
a conceptual choice, and also based on limitations of each medium.
Use digital and practice with trail and error Pictures. Use Film if unease with techonlogy
Whichever you can be most productive and creative with for the particular project.
I think many professional photographers actively tried to hide the fact that they loved shooting film in 1990s, because many art buyers associated film shooters with high cost, inflexibility and technological incompetence that would not survive the digital era. Now, those guys are thoroughly out of business and there is fresh air around film work. So, I don’t hide the fact that I love shooting film. It’s just that only some projects benefit from it... digital is the right choice for most projects.
I am two different photographers, when shooting digital and when shooting film. The differences in the workflow and properties of the materials make me so. This is a good thing. For some personal project work, I often shoot both a same scene in digital and film.
ah, good question that's depends what you want!
When one wants too.
One should use film when he feels like he should... depends on a person...
Personal preference. I would say that digital is definitely superior in situations where you need the shots to work out that time, for example, a wedding, where the event cannot be repeated or recreated. Also, unless you are experienced, low light situations are much easier on a digital camera if you have the capabilities to capture the scene.
I think film is dead... At least for what I do. While I'm sure it has a cool look, (it's been so long) there is not a conveinient way for me to shoot it. I sold all my view camera bodies and lenses for pennies on the dollar... I took a photo of it with my iphone before it left.
i miss fuji velvia, but has to be digital these days
the difference is only in the light
I THINK FILM IF YOU GOT THE TIME AND YOU WANT A WARM NATURAL LOOK?!
BUT DIGITAL CAN DO THAT TOO NOW-A-DAYS!!! IF IT'S A FAST AND RUSHED JOB DIGITAL COULD BE LIGHT, CHEAPER...
FILM IS REALL FOR THE OLD PRO WITH TIME AND TRYING TO GET PERFECTION...
Whenever you like. No right answer.
I used to love film. Digital has now surpassed the quality I could ever get with film anymore, so those days are over.
I prefere digital since I publish lot of photos online and i want to look at them right after. |
