Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sigma, Olympus, Sony, Pentax...which do you place your bets on and why?
personally for me it has to be Fuji for the skin tones. This surprises a lot of clients as the popular choice for amateur photographers is a Cannon EOS so I find it often starts interesting conversations.
Canon...always.
Fuji and Nikon. Tried, true and tested.
nikon. it works.
I use a SONY digital with a large lens for light gathering.
Canon.I have been useing for 20years Canon.but I would change as my purpose.
and I love Leica and Hassellbrad and Linhoff and Pentax67.
Canon Mark 2-------very usely for outdoor shoots.
P25---------great performance for quality.
Canon...... it's what I started out with.
I used to have a number of Olympus cameras with an assortment of lenses and other accessories. Since the advent of digital photography I switched to Panasonic since they have Leica lenses.
Nikon.
I own Nikon but I use everything, it depends on the shoot. Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, PhaseOne, Imacon, they all have their individual ups and downs so I choose the right one for the right applications. I do tend to stick with the pro trade makers though.
Nikon, the gold standard, or as some are now calling it, Black Gold. They may be a little behind at times but when they catch up they exceed everything else.....
Canon and Pentax
Every photo in CHINA: Portrait of a People was shot with an Olympus C-4000. Far below the industry standard for professional photojournalism, but for my purposes it was invaluable. And considering the number of times it was smacked out of my hand my hostile Chinese police, or dropped while traversing steep canyons in West China, it was also quite indestructible.
Canon, for its portability.
Hasselblad with Phase One digital back for studio work. |
