Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sigma, Olympus, Sony, Pentax...which do you place your bets on and why?
Canon, canon, canon. That's not to say I believe there's nothing else out there, but for me canon is the most intuitive. And there are so many lenses to choose from that fit so many cameras..the possibilities are endless. Love, love, love my canon gear!
I only have experience of using a Canon 450D but I feel, in the future, a Nikon will be more suited to a professional career.
Canon 450D
Canon. Overall best quality i have found anywhere. I have a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS myself and i love it to death. Nikon is verrrrry bad quality wise. Sony is okish. But Canon is the best.
For the professional, I would bet on Canon and Nikon. They have the most experience with the pro market, and both offer a wide range of lenses, flashes and accessories for their cameras. For photo enthusiasts, there are so many options available, especially with cameras that shoot HD video. Cell phone cameras are now capable of producing decent quality images that rival compact digital point-and-shoot cameras.
DSLR Nikon. They are nifty. I am attracted to its ability, to giving me 'peace of mind'.
Canon G11 is a snazzy pocket camera, with its RAW shooting capability.
I like the Canon Powershot. I would never use anything but the flexible swivel door viewfinder screen found only on the Powershot.

Canon and Sony. I used to take photos with my Sony ericsson k800 cybershot, and they were of high quality. Now I have a canon eos 500D nad I am satisfied.
All the above are great cameras but we are using Sony because it's easier for us to work with.
So far I have only had the pleasure of using a Nikon. However, I'm more than certain that Canons work somewhat better, so in the future i will try to aim for a Canon!
To place bets is something that brokers do, not photographers.
Canon, because the results from it has beautiful colors, and also its really easy to use.
Nikon D700 and Fuji S3. I actually have a full size billboard on Rt3 NJ that I shot 3 sports celebrities with that Fuji S3!
I've recently switched to Canon, because I find their design, electronics and lenses superior. The high quality digital files cannot be beat. |
