PHOTOGRAPHY
Do you normally photograph with a purpose already in mind, or do you let yourself go with the flow?
Mostly the former.
go with the flow
Underwater photography is in general go with the flow:
- just see what you come across during your dive and point&shoot
I always have an idea or concept, but I allow room for creative development. Sometimes the best shots are the ones that weren't 100% planned. Plus, nothing ever goes EXACTLY as planned. You have to roll with the punches.
I think I always start with a purpose, but when you start the shooting you just have to let it go, and do unexpected things
both, but generally I have something in mind from the start
It depend whether I have a client or if it's personal work. If it's a client the idea is already worked out and i do not change it while shooting. But if it's personal I'll try to catch the moment and implements the creative part of my photography on set and while I'm shooting.
sometimes i do it fos special purpose, sometimes i love let go with the flow. depends on the situation
The client controls this to a large extent, but it's often to their benefit to let me work freely within their guidelines. It's a synergy between the client's shot list and the full extent of images that I can imagine that produce the greatest number of usable images. |
