What type of preparation do you do before undertaking the photo session?
I gather my thoughts for each themed shoot, make sure my camera is on all the right settings and scout locations for each theme.
I'll make sure I have all my batteries charged with spares and get all my equipment together and sorted. I'll also try to get a good nights' sleep and rest my eyes.
I try to erase all photos on my cell phone before I go out. This way I keep track of my sessions. I also listen to music, this way I do not look like a photographer.
Depending on assignments we will prepare accordingly. In general, ensure all batteries are charged, CF cards ready, equipment packed and all props and other requirements in place.
It is a physical process of checking and verifying that everything is in order. Mentally running through different scenarios and light setups depending on how much prior information I have available for the location/assignment.
Though research of the setting, subject and technics available for each shoot.
It depends on the assignment, but the most important thing to do is to clear ones mind so that opportunities are revealed. Being overly prepared is as dangerous as being underprepared.
If I have a brief, I make sure all the approaches I want to take are going to be technically feasible. The team is assembled and we go off to make a photograph.
I'll always have a meeting with clients to create a visual mood-board on the direction/feel they want the photographs to present. I'm always scouting for locations and props.
I set up simple light for product photos
I have a long talk with my models over coffee and have them bring their own music for the shoot
I do my own production. Choosing the model, the location, the stylist, the make-up artist, the choice of light etc. It takes a lot of time and preparation.
It depends where I am. I always have a rough idea of what I'm trying to do. In a studio, it's all about the intricacies of setting things up to look exactly as you want them to, but outside, you're at the mercy of the world around you and have no option but to go with what you find. That's the part the excites me most.
I do extensive research on the subject before the shoot.I have a pre production meeting with my team to discuss the plan.God is in the details and nothing is left to chance.Iam fortunate enough to have a good team of Makeup artists, stylists, assistants, retouch artists etc.,At the end of the day its a team effort.
Check-List dos equipamentos.
For me, preparedness varies, as most of my work is outdoors or in venues. Researching and visiting the location ahead of time, if possible, in addition to preparing proper wardrobe and equipment, are a necessity.
I thoroughly research my destination, checking out points of interest, good view points and places where people will congregate
Lots of prep, Research, meet ups & discussions with my team or the subject. |
