How do you choose your subjects?
They chose me.
they choose me.
Mostly dictated by my understanding of what sells in stock or by the clients
My subject are chosen more out of emotion. When I feel lonely or sad or happy, ideas then come to me on what to photograph.
If my subjects are not choosing me, I look for an interesting person that emanates a strong trait or characteristic.
It's either because I'm inspired by what I see or I have a job to do and I find inspiration in my product or object.
Most jobs find me.
i don't.
I don't, they choose me. They invite me to come over and capture them. Like a dance, many angles...the light ever changing.
I have an idea or see something that catches my eye.
It just happens, i meet someone and if they turn me on in anyway i usually want to make an image of them.
otherwise its magazine, record label assignments.
By personal interests such as yoga, equestrian, people. Or by assignment.
Whatever I get excited about!
I work mostly on assignment, but when I do shoot on my own, or on a travel assignment, I generally just go after what catches my eye. Very often, a story can be told in a person's eyes- which is likely what begins my desire to photograph the subject. Other times, it's the light or the scene the subject happens to be a part of.
