How do you choose your subjects?
I cook it, I photograph it, I blog it
There is a condition called "attention deficit disorder." I think I have this disorder because everything captures my attention and I want to capture it! Basically, however, symmetry, color, texture, and subject lighting get my attention.

They tend to choose me. Especially the animals.
This depends on what I am looking for and can be largely shoot-specific. I am also widely influenced by many other photographers which accounts for much of my inspiration in general. My own personal interests come into play in a big way as well. For example, I was undertaking a shoot for one of my classes around a year ago in which we needed to choose the past or future as our theme. In order to develop this more I researched and discovered the work of Eugenio Recuenco who became a major go-to influence for the project. There were also my personal interests in outer space and life on other planets that helped to develop my ideas for the shoot. So, choosing my subjects is more of an eclectic mix of what influences and inspires me and my own ideas on developing those concepts and insight.
By looking and getting the feeling right.
Mostly it's spontaneous, but every now and then I set up the conditions and the model.
No special way. Colours and shapes are important.

I don't choose. Once I shoot something, it becomes my subject. |
