What do you try to express through your photography?
I have always been a creative person, but not particularily artistic, photography is a way of espressing your inner artist without needing drawing or painting skills
beauty, surprise...
Dispassionate but intimate observation
Mystery
Humour
Humanity
Decisive moments
I want the camera to disappear and the subject to be as real as they can be.
often humour....
With every image I take, I try to tell a story. I strive for the "wow" factor when you view my images.
my feelings for the subject
It depends what we are photographing. For wedding photography, we try to capture the real love the couple has for each other and not just the generic posed smiles.
Coming from a photojournalism background I'm not really trying to say something about myself in the photography I do as much as I am exploring the people in front of my lens. Really powerful photography is a result of careful and thoughtful observation.
Reality through a blink of an eye.
action and effort......
Emotion, experience, time, place.
To entice someone to either eat what I have photographed. In my food still life, I try to photograph something someone would want to use as a print, etc.
The way that I see, feel, and think, who I am!
An aesthetic, an emotion, or merely a record of what I see. It varies. |
