What is your favourite type of photography?
I really enjoy photographing environments with a human element, an edgy concept and a little humor always works well with me. I shoot everything digital now and quite often do a lot of photoshop to my images.
I really like editorial work, features, profiles, portraits and action.
Right now it's nature photography. Through the years I have taken photos whenever necessary to accompany my news stories. It was done intermittently, depending on the newspaper and my job at the time.
Once I learned to take 35 mm pictures, I never went back to the point-and-shoot camera. I used it for my vacation shots too, some of which I am now hosting at Nature Photo Downloads, http://www.naturephotodownloads.com
Art-Nude, collages
Wildlife.
The purpose of my photography is to allow me to understand the countries and cultures I am traveling to, and for that there is no better medium than Street Photography. While on the road during the 2 years I backpacked across the 33 provinces of China, a typical day for me was taking a train or bus to my next destination, then the following day walking around that city or village for no less than 10 hours to absorb as much culture as humanly possible – and taking pictures while doing it. I often shot hundreds of pictures per day, primarily of people I encountered during my strolls. Every photo that appears in CHINA: Portrait of a People was captured this way.
Portraits and editorial
Editorial photo-journalism style - people and cultures, travel.
I mainly use digital technology now, which is ideal for testing out new techniques. I love pinhole images and using selective focus to create abstract images.
Portraits and Water. Both are mediums that require one to let themselves be free in order to express what you see.
I love macro-photography, nature, architecture, travel. I probably least like photographing people, although it is the best way to get your photography noticed it seems.
I guess it would fall under editorial, which is mostly what I shoot in and around New Hampshire. Subjects range from ice climbing on Mt. Washington to photographing artists in their studios.
Music and portrait photography. Being able to take photos of someone doing their passions and being able to portray that in a photo, is what it's all about. Showing their personality through a photo will never get old.
Freeze framing a moment in time, capturing a thing of beauty and locking it in that perfectly, beautiful moment forever.
I enjoy nature photography, which you can see on my website, http://www.StockPhotosArizona.com, and I enjoy photographing models too. |
