What is your favourite type of photography?
I love taking landscapes and reflections although my work now is purely aimed at any subject which can be converted into jigsaw puzzles on the Internet.
Weddings, portraiture, landscape, wildlife, fashion and band photography.
Any photography where there is some form of emotion that can be conveyed where the essence of the moment is captured and translated successfully.

My favorite type of photography is what I can best describe as conceptual/artistic/creative.
I see myself primarily as a portrait and landscape photographer.
On the one hand, I love people photography; Especially candid and spontaneous shots, but on the other hand, I dream about doing travel and landscape photography for a living.
I also like the illustrative style of weddings, fashion and beauty. I have a taste for low-key and dramatic images. I prefer shooting on location since it allows me to be more creative and bring different worlds together i.e. a beautiful model in a dirty backstreet or urban environment.
To be honest, I like all forms of photography, but to make a living, I had to specialize in some photography forms, at the cost of others.
I love to photograph people, culture, and lifestyle.
I personally prefer to work with children. While posed, glamorous shots look great, I prefer to photograph the world as it is, not how I pose it to be. Children have such an innocence about them that makes it more of a challenge to get the right shot and angle while chasing them around. They are more honest photos, capturing the essense of the child themselves.
I also have a preference to nature scenery for my photo shoots. While studios can set the perfect lighting to make anyone look good, natural lighting makes pictures uncomparably better.
I appreciate all types of photography, much of it takes a lot of work and skill. However, contemporary art photography is what I enjoy looking at most. My work is often in the built environment so I like photography that can combine that and art like lots of the work coming from Dusseldorf and artists like Rut Blees Luxemburg.
I love portrait work. I have been shooting a lot of fantastic leading actors such as Ken Stott, Hayley Atwell and many others.
Since music is my passion, I'm pretty much enticed by concert photography; mostly hard rock and metal.
If its got a face, I want to shoot it! LOL!
I am captivated by Old Historical Buildings, Landscapes, and Wildlife.
I have found that there are many Buildings built back in the 1800's with amazing stories behind them. Some are strangely shaped to meet the shape and design of curves in roads, streets etc.. I am intrigued by abandoned sites. Places where perhaps a business was thriving, maybe a mine or something and to find it closed suddenly and no one knows why. I found a Burbon Distillery recently that had a extremely large japanese garden and meeting pavilion on the property that was hidden from view by trees and growth. Turns out it was used in the 20's and 30's as an entertainment for the rich and famous of the area. People and dignataries from all over the world would visit this place. Now just left to rust and whether away.
My favorite type of photography is photojournalism and black and white fine art photography: always with people in them. Weddings and events lend themselves wonderfully to these favorites.

I like to document... As I see it? The beauty in the photo is the documentation of what is seen/portrayed in the shot...
Posing a group of people for a group shot or family portrait may seem to be boring or un-challenging, but realistically I enjoy it knowing how personally valuable the photos will be to the folks in the photos in the years to come~~!!
I don't have much documentation (through photos) of my childhood or my family... Needless to say, I am attempting to make sure that no one else has to suffer:-) |
