What has been your education as a photographer?
I have taken photography classes and workshops. I have assisted as well as mentored with professionals.

I did have some formal training from university of Miami in Fla. but I really consider the real well of training to be my life experiences.
National Film School London, and practical experience still learning.
School of Visual Arts, NYC, 2001-2005
Auto-didactic. Years of working as a commercial photo assistant.
Formal college level training at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies and a BAchelor degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Florida INtl University. However, experience has been my best teacher.
My formal training is from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
That is where I gained my scientific knowledge and the technical side of photogarphy.
Of course the rest of my education came from (and still adds to my work) industry professionals, looking at other art and trial and error. I think the biggest breakthrough in my education was when I figured out how to learn from what I was doing well or not so well.
Largely self taught, a few university classes and business acumen from ASMP and assisting.
I attended college and along with my general studies I took a handful of photography courses. However I think most of my education and growth as a photographer has come from trial and error!
I have a BA in Art and Psychology from Union College, in Schenectady, NY with a specialization in Photography. I am a photoshop expert as well. |
