For how long have you done photography? How did you begin?
Lifetime interest.
My photography kick was birthed from failure. I was taking a Photography course that was included in my Digital Arts for Musician's studies. The teacher was a well-known photographer who was published and very critical of our work and my assignments were just good enough to get by. After struggling for just a few quick weeks I had failed to hand in one assignment on time and lost the entire credit.
The sense of unfair failure pushed me into retaking the course and putting extra effort into my work, and I passed. I learned from that experience of failure and pushed myself into something I never knew I loved doing. From that I found my eye.
I have been indirectly involved shooting photography for 19 years but seriously focused on it for the past (8) years. Started shooting film in College (Humboldt State University / Don Anton & Bill Thonson) and then started shooting digital in 2001.
I've always been interested in photography; I find it hard to look at anything without imagining it through the lens. I didn't actually start to really pursue my interest until college; it was only at that time that I really had the means to do it right and even then financially it was a difficult interest to pursue properly. It still is!
I was in college when I decided to change my marketing degree to a photojournalism degree and I'm so happy I did. After graduation, I began working with a product studio in Chicago and doing childrens portraits. This is also when I started second shooting for wedding photographers in the Chicago area. It didn't take me long to fall in love with the story telling elements that weddings give to me through creative photography. I started my own photography company in 2005 and have been photographing hundreds of babies, children and couples since!

Five years, for the sake of art!
My dad is a photographer, I learned from the best :) since I was 11 years old
For about four years. I started my freshman year of high school and I've taken a photo class every year since.
About 25 years.
I started taking photos to use as reference for my drawing back in 1982. Shortly after that I realized I liked the photos for themselves and started seriously working on photography and photo-collage.
I got my first camera in 1984, a Minolta x370. It was a gift from my mother one Christmas. My love for the medium just grows year after year.
I started dabbling in the art of photography as a young child. I always found it fascinating to be able to capture an image of something that I saw with my own eye. Something I could always look at whether it was there still or not. I only have been in photography as a potential career path since August of 2008.
I chose it as a creative career path because a friend of mine always enjoyed the snapshots I would take of her. She decided to purchase my first pro camera in the hopes that I would take pictures of her and her daughter instead of having to go to local studios and getting the same images everyone else had. So that began my creative endeavor.
4 1/2 years; interest in high school photo class
I have only been doing photography for about 3 years now. I had always photographed for family and friends. Actually drove them crazy because I always had a camera on hand!! I had friends that had asked me to photograph their families for them and everyone always said "You should try to do this professionally" but you never know if they are being truthful! Well my husband got me a camera one Christmas and I just gave it a shot! I emailed all my friends and asked for their children as models!! The deal was you let me start to build a portfolio with your little ones, and I will give you all the pictures on a CD.
