Are you continuing to educate yourself through acting classes, seminars, or other courses? Do you combine this with your normal job?

There was this brilliant story I heard recently about this older, very established US actress, who came to the UK for a big role in the West End. Her career has spanned decades and she has been acclaimed for performances on stage and screen. She enrolled at The Actors Centre in London and took some classes there. A younger actor in the cast asked her why on earth she would be taking classes when she clearly had talent, fame and success. She replied that as an actor, you never stop learning. So I take as many classes as I can afford - to take extra classes I work extra hours. And one day I hope I get to study TV and film acting in America. That would be so amazing.

I just finished my graduation. I am a media student. Just completed Visual Communication. I have not thought of taking acting classes as yet. I guess my mirror helps me a lot with that.

definetely

I have a side job that pays the bills when I can't be on stage. I also am working on my Bachelor's degree in Theatre little by little.

i am still educating myself while i have my acting courses. i have an ajusted schedule when i am in school and have acting combined

I definitely do my best to continue acting classes and attend as many seminars I can. I like to go to seminars within the field, but not necessarily actor specific. For instance, I go to singer seminars because while there final performance is different than mine, the road to get there is very similar and hearing it from a fresh perspective is interesting and adds a different layer.

I'm fortunate enough to have a 9 to 5 job that allows me to go to auditions and shoots when need-be.

Always. I am always in a class whether a vocal lesson or workshop or doing a cold reading. My normal job never gets in the way of my career.

No, I've never believed in acting classes personally. I feel you are born for it or not - or in my case built for it.

I am currently taking a theatre class in school. I cant say I do combine this with my job in any sort of way.

one actor is every life studing. Its very important dont stop.

I can't now because I can't afford it, what I do is that everyday I watch tv to learn from the actors.

I've never took acting classes or went to seminars. Just not my preference or style. My mother was an actress in Dinner Theatre and Regional Theater, she has given me some input and insight when I started out since she has great experience in this field. Then I just took that and ran with it! Also I learn and study a lot on my own. An example of that would be watching some of the greats like Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Robert Kazinsky, and Maurice Bernard.

An actor has to constantly learn and become better. You have to keep doing things to make you better.

No - I prefer to learn more firsthand...

Yes, I've taken a few classes over the years and will again when I have the time. I'm pretty booked through 2012!

I do have a day job (for now) - I'm a US federal agent!
Between the two there's no time for anything else.
