What is your criteria in determining which projects you select?
If I can feel the character, if I like the script and if I feel that 100% is being put into the production by every member of the team.
If it's something I would not want my children (if I ever have any) to see then it's not something I do. You have to be proud of the work you do.
I shoot for the original projects simply because I can be a unknown character and morph it into being something important and different. With fandubs, all the info is displayed for the voice actor. People will know how they act if they seen that character before and try to focus on that character's voice. Not with me unfortunately, I like original characters and give them life to make them stand out from the usual.
At that stage where whatever comes.. Ill probably take.
It HAS to be a good script or at least have a good base I can work with. I also like to choose projects that challenge me or push me in different directions.
The script, number 1. Then, if there are some people I'd like to work with.
I only choose the roles that are right for me.

Nowadays I'm lucky, I pick and choose projects that I want to work on because Intext Performance (just about) pays the bills. So I only do things that interest me, things that I would like to watch, or that offer a new idea I haven't come across before.
In the old days, as a jobbing actor, I have to be honest and say I took a job because it paid.
Always the work before the money. Its all about the message, that's why I love comedy! Got to be a well written story
No nudity. No crewdness, lewdness or rudeness. Sophistication, style and grace. Vampire warrior. Tough as nails. Don't mess around. I already got a man.
No nudeness really, nothing hardcore, and nothing which gives people the wrong idea, or affects people, such as Religion, or Disabilities. I like honest performances, but with the ideal acceptance from people. And i just like to be respected, and given guidence.
I guess I select my projects by emotion...Honestly speaking I have no criteria. |
