When I figure the answer out I'll tell you.
You must always listen and give enough time to the project. Laziness is forbidden. Define in the first instance the expectation your client has and then exceed it. Even if you only exceed it by an inch, you will have built a loyal client who will recommend you to their colleagues and friends. And lastly, whenever you get a referral - reward the referee - absolutely essential!
Be honest. Tell them exactly what you're doing. Do public beta tests, and allow for feedback. Be open source.

Be honest.
Do it upfront in the sales process with proper qualification and honesty. If you are more concerned about building a relationship with a long term client than in closing a deal, expectations tend to remain in check.
Help each customer one at time and provide as much help as you can. Be honest with your customers and let them know if and how they can improve. |
