After working for long periods of time, have you ever felt as though you were in a bubble?

Yes, definitely. You're in the flow and working really quickly - the external world seems to be moving past much more slowly than usual. It can take a while to reengage with people.

It really doesn't take that long. Employers that understand that not all programmers have dispensed with the need for worthwhile conversation or physical movement during the working day are nice.

I've had partners tell me I get lost in my work, especially when I end up in front of a computer finishing a project for > 16 hours straight.

Yup. Most of the time...

Bubble?

If you mean do I shut out the outside world and focus purely on the code then sure I do that all the time but lets face it most of the outside world is boring anyway.

Not only after working... if you stay at home reading for a whole vacation... you feel completely outside of the world!!!!

I spend my life in a bubble.

Sure. At on e point in time, you're mind is completely connected to the task it's working on, and then everything goes by itself. Don't remember the name of this state, but it's here, definitely.

No, i'm frequently pausing. When i get a bubbly feeling i'm not productive!

On a very few cases when I had emergency bugs to solve and I got stuck and felt a bit tired and stressed. The pressure can be high sometimes.

ummm.. At times.. but its COOL!

Yes. I frequently feel as though I've been trapped inside a bubble for what seems like 15 mins, but in reality has been almost 3 hours.

Sometimes, and I must say it is too difficult to stop development when we have many ideas in the head but what we can do is take note of all ideas before stopping development and then it will be much more easy to do it.

Huh? No. I think I'd feel like that if I were actually in a bubble.

YES!! I've lost several weekends in my life building websites where I'll just sit down & I don't get up... The hours blend together & I'll look at the clock & it says 5:45am... I have done this for days.
