What motivates you to undertake a new project?
Customer satisfaction.
New challenges, exciting ideas I want to realize. Observing, caressing and improving the product brings me enjoyment.
That user will use it and will like it
Greed and ambition.
Seriously, it's a terrible phrasing. We just build cool stuff.
A strong dream. An appealing idea. A useful purpose, even if it is learning how to code using a new platform, framework or language.
Project must be new. It means that I cannot feel any routine work. I also have to work with friendly people.
The fun of writing and learning.
I want to bring the WP7 look and feel to the Android OS
Wherever I see a situation where my skills in hardware and software engineering can be put to good use in an effective, community-oriented, manner.
Creative or innovative potential and/or money.
Aside from the need to buy food, pay the mortgage and the utility bills - I also just happen to think it's a lot of fun to start a new software project - particularly with a clean slate.
My main motivation is the fact that I have configured many machines for inexperienced users and there are still many problems those users cannot fix themselves. My software is meant to make life easier!
Novelty.
Most of the time it's just that I think I can do better than what's already on the market.
