What are the main mistakes clients make in judging creativity?
thinking as businessmen and not as their clients or target people. its really important to understand and know your clients.
Clients make no mistakes.
Probably trying to judge creativity. Just look at whether the idea will achieve what you want to it to do.
when they want their product appear 30" in 30" spot.
It's never any one specific thing. Most clients come from different backgrounds, yet are all business professionals. However, a large majority of them have very little experience and education in the creativity area. For some it may be layout issues, other it could be color choices, etc.
They look at it from their perspective and not their consumers.
Not considering their own strategy very deeply before passing out briefs.
Thinking about short term earnings while disregarding long term brand impact. Being so afraid to fail that worry actually poisons the opportunity to innovate and do something excellent.
Perceived Assumptions.
Not being bold. Most clients think their taste is universal, so "If I don't like it, noone will". Which is tottaly wrong.
Never judge crativity
Most clients like creative ideas but they want to make sure that the brand integrity is still intact.
When they think that there should be product shots. Some ads work better if there are no product shots.
They might not see how a creative approach will generate ROI. It may be a stretch for their experience. You can be out-of-the-box but you need to keep at least one toe inside.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I think clients tend to oversee what they see in their own angles, but if they would synergize our creativity with their products then i think it would be easy to have successful campaigns
Not considering the consumer. |
